The Russian Horn Orchestra

The Russian Horn Orchestra was founded in 2006 by Sergey Polyanichko to revive the traditions of horn music, which have no equals in the world. Nowadays the orchestra has 74 instruments with a unique sound and a 4‑octave band. The ensemble has 20 musicians, all of them students or graduates of the St Petersburg Conservatory, members of symphonic orchestras and musical theatres of the Northern Capital. The repertoire of the orchestra includes works of renowned and modern composers. Non-standard approach to performances is often used in orchestration and implementation of innovative ideas. Apart from performances in best concert halls of St Petersburg, the ensemble has toured Russia from Moscow to Krasnoyarsk and other countries of the world from the Baltics and Scandinavia to Sicily and Israel. The artists of the Russian Horn Orchestra have performed for the priesthood, heads of the states, diplomats, ministers, members of the Russian Royal House delegation and have taken part in many significant international events.
